July 4th Street Fair & Parade
Each year Legacy Sertoma has placed an entry in Monument's 4th of July Parade and manned a booth at the Chamber of Commerce Street Fair passing out information on club membership & activities, as well as educational materials on hearing health and assistance.
Salvation Army Red Kettles
For the three years of its existance, Legacy Sertoma members, with help from volunteers outside the club, have raised over $20,600 for the Salvation Army's red kettle campaigns.
5k Experience (Fun Walk/Run)
Legacy annually joins other Sertoma clubs within the Pikes Peak District in conducting the 5K Experience Fun Walk/Run to raise funds in support of HEARS. HEARS is a joint Sertoma club organization which provides hearing aids at little to no cost to the needy.
Prospector Sertoma Gun Show
Members of Legacy Sertoma assist the Prospectors Sertoma Club's Gun Shows which raise funds, all of which go to multiple charitable causes within the Pikes Peak region.
Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce
Free Hearing Screenings
Using the Rocky Mountain Sertoma Club's Hearing Van the club conducts free hearing screenings at the July 4th Street Fair. They also conduct screenings at the free Health Fair held in Monument annually.
National Heritage Essays
Legacy sponsors a National Heritage Week essay contest, subject: "What Freedom Means To Me", for 8th grade students in the local middle schools. Winners are recognized at a Sertoma District-wide banquet and further judged against winners from other schools within that district.
Assists "Our Community News"
"Our Community News" is a local paper published monthly by a volunteer staff. The day before distribution, Legacy members assist in preparing the thousands of copies for mailing. In turn, the newspaper publishers contribute to our sponsorship account.
Sertoma Street Breakfast
Legacy Sertoma provides manpower to the annual Sertoma Street Breakfast, hosted by Rocky Mtn Sertoma, which raises funds to support military families on Fort Carson and serves as the "kick off" to the Range Riders annual ride to publicize the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo.
Colorado Springs Soap Box Derby
The goals of the Soap Box Derby Program are to promote families working together to teach youngsters some of the basic skills of workmanship along with the spirit of competition and the perseverance to continue a project to completion. Legacy Sertoma physically supports the Pikes Peak Soap Box Derby during practice and inspections as well as on actual race day.
